Privacy Policy
A plain-language overview of how BillSwiper handles information.
Effective date: November 6, 2026
BillSwiper is built to help people pay verified bills directly to real businesses. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
We collect the information needed to operate BillSwiper, such as your username, contact information, account activity, and the bill details you submit or choose to help pay. BillSwiper uses usernames in the product rather than requiring public display of real names.
Payments and identity checks
BillSwiper does not store your card data or identity-document data. Payments and identity verification are handled by trusted providers, including Stripe, Stripe Identity, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Method, and Atomic. Those providers process information under their own privacy policies and security practices.
Receivers may be asked to complete a Stripe Identity check and provide a face photo so we can help protect the community and confirm bills are connected to real businesses.
How we use information
We use information to run the service, verify bills and accounts, process or facilitate payments to billers, prevent fraud and misuse, provide support, and comply with legal obligations.
Advertising
Advertisements, if offered, are shown only to receivers. We do not show ads to donors as part of the donor experience.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including encryption in transit where supported, to protect information. No system can promise absolute security.
Sharing
We share information with service providers when needed to run BillSwiper, including payment, identity, bill-verification, hosting, security, and support providers. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect people and the service.
Your choices and account deletion
You can request deletion of your BillSwiper account by following the instructions on our Account Deletion page. Some records may be retained where needed for fraud prevention, payment reconciliation, legal compliance, or legitimate business records.
Children
BillSwiper is not intended for children under 18. Do not use the service if you are under 18.
